St. Paul's Church of England Primary School

Our PTA

Our PTA work closely with the school to ensure that we fundraise to the maximum. Being such a small school we rely on funds being raised at our events and functions.

We have lots of exciting events to look forward to across the year and all volunteers would be very much appreciated, please let any of the committee members know if you’re free to help at any of the events shown below.

The role of the PTA in St Paul’s school is to top up on the government funding given to the school. We do this by holding various fundraising events throughout the year, the most traditional are the Summer Fayre, Christmas Fayre and St George’s day parade. We also hold discos for the children, non-uniform days, quizzes, an Easter egg hunt, competitions and sales events.

The money raised by the PTA has in recent years been used to provide the children with the library, the trim trail seen on the Glebe to play on at playtime, iPads for the classrooms, books for the Read, Write, Inc reading scheme, to pay for transport to the annual pantomime trip, the KS1 Christmas party and KS2 Christmas disco, prizes for the Christmas jumper competition, Christmas selection packs, Easter eggs for the whole school after the Easter egg hunt, the annual balloon race and the leaver’s disco and books.

As you can imagine, a lot of hard work goes into planning these events, and the PTA meet to discuss them as regularly as possible. All parents are encouraged to attend PTA meetings when possible to bring in fresh new ideas and to help with implementing them. Joining the PTA doesn’t mean making a long-term commitment. Often we will ask for help to run events like the discos, movie nights and fayres and this can be done on a one off basis or regularly depending on how much time you can commit. You don’t even have to attend every meeting. There are so many ways you could help.
