St. Paul's Church of England Primary School

What makes St. Paul's special?

At St. Paul’s, we are proud to offer a nurturing, enriching, and inspiring environment where every child can thrive. Here’s what makes our school truly special:

Continuous Provision from Reception to Year 4

At St. Paul’s, we go above and beyond to meet and exceed the demands of the National Curriculum through our innovative continuous provision from Reception to Year 4. This approach allows pupils to engage in a rich and varied curriculum tailored to their developmental needs. By integrating opportunities for hands-on learning, exploration, and creativity, we ensure that our pupils develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and beyond while building a deep love for learning.

Our provision fosters independence, curiosity, and problem-solving, helping children achieve and surpass curriculum expectations while nurturing their individual interests and talents. With carefully designed indoor and outdoor learning spaces, we create an environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Exciting Trips Across the South East, London and Kent

Our school trips are carefully designed to inspire, educate, and provide unforgettable experiences for our pupils. From exploring the rich history of the Tower of London to marvelling at world-class performances at the Royal Opera House and the Royal Albert Hall, we ensure our children encounter the best of culture and history.

Closer to nature, our pupils enjoy visiting Kew Gardens to learn about biodiversity, Kent Life to explore rural heritage and the Wildwood Trust to meet and understand native wildlife. Adventures also include discovering marine life at Whitstable Bay, experiencing the wonders of various zoos, and immersing themselves in the outdoors.

With our two school minibuses and fully qualified drivers, we make these opportunities accessible and safe, giving every child the chance to experience the richness of the South East, London, and Kent.

Memorable Residential Trips

At St. Paul’s, we understand the lifelong impact that residential trips can have on children’s confidence, resilience, and sense of adventure. Across their time with us, our pupils have the opportunity to experience three exciting residentials, each designed to challenge and inspire them in unique ways.

  • Year 2: A one-night stay at Kingswood in Ashford focuses on teamwork and problem-solving. Through engaging activities, children develop collaboration skills and build self-assurance in a fun, supportive environment.
  • Year 4: A night at Windmill Hill in East Sussex brings thrilling challenges, encouraging pupils to face their fears by leaping from heights and pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.
  • Year 6: Culminating their time with us, pupils embark on a two-night residential experience where they truly "step out of the boat." With a focus on water-based activities, children learn to overcome fears, trust in themselves, and embrace new adventures with courage and determination.

These residential trips are a cornerstone of our commitment to holistic development, helping children create lasting memories while building valuable skills they’ll carry with them for years to come.

Pupil Leadership Opportunities

At St. Paul’s, we believe every child has the potential to lead and make a meaningful contribution to our school community. Pupils can take on a variety of roles, including School Councillors, Reading Ambassadors, Playleaders, Litter Pickers, and Lunchtime Monitors, as well as many more opportunities to grow and shine.

We also encourage children to take on jobs within the school – from helping to manage the library to assisting with the school garden – allowing them to develop responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills. Through these roles, children can earn Dojo points while gaining a sense of pride and accomplishment as valued members of our community.

A Strong Christian Vision

Our school is rooted in a strong Christian vision, inspired by the story of Peter stepping out of the boat in faith. This story reminds us to be courageous, step out of our comfort zones, and trust in God’s guidance. At St. Paul’s, we encourage all children to grow in confidence, resilience, and character, supported by our Christian ethos. Through daily worship, prayer, and reflection, we aim to nurture every child’s spiritual development and instil values that will guide them throughout their lives.
